ENGL2328 Journal: Realism

How did you as a reader with 21st century ideals, which include familial, cultural, societal, and/or educational traditions/practices make sense of the "realities" presented in any of the stories by Bierce, Chopin, Chesnutt, and/or Far? The realities could be deliberate sense of calm and panic before death; the issues of race, abandonment, and acceptance; or understanding cultural changes are usually inevitable with each generation.
