Group-Facilitated Discussion Plan Submission

Instructions

You will select a specific therapeutic topic and week from the choices provided in Week 4 Activity 1: Group-Facilitated Discussion Topic Choice

You will see below that these facilitated discussions will occur in weeks 8, 10, and 12 of the course. During each of these weeks two separate groups will present and facilitate their topics on Day 1 and other members of the class will respond to each group's prompt, beginning on Day 3 and ending by Day 7. The facilitating group is responsible for responding to ALL initial posts and must still meet required number of replies on an individual basis for the week mentioned in the discussion board grading rubric.

Meeting with the other students that selected the same topic/week as you, your group will explore the literature and research around that therapy modality. After spending some time in the research, your group will create a discussion prompt that will elicit a thought-provoking discussion for your classmates. You will provide two to three resources (videos, readings, and the like) that peers will need to review to help them participate in the discussion.

Each group will submit a PowerPoint presentation and a one-page overview of the discussion including:

Lecture PowerPoint presentation

Discussion prompt

List of readings, videos, and other resources that you asked your peers to review, in APA format

Any resources that you used in preparing your discussion prompt, in APA format

On Day 1 of your selected week, your group will be responsible for posting the presentation and discussion prompt as well as instructions for what readings, videos, and other resources you want everyone to review. During this week, your group will be responsible for facilitating the discussion, which means making sure that everyone is engaged and helping the discussion to expand.

Every group member should submit the exact same group facilitated discussion plan for grading to the correct dropbox this week; however, one assigned member of the group can be assigned to post to the discussion board in the week listed above for your topic.
