WEEK 3 DISCUSSION BIO2071 MICROBIOLOGY LAB

Both molds and yeasts are considered fungi. Using the South University Online Library or the Internet read and research about molds and yeasts.

Based on your research, respond to the following:

• Compare and contrast between molds versus yeasts.
• Human infectious diseases are caused by fungi classified as superficial, cutaneous, subcutaneous, and systemic mycoses. What specific characteristics distinguish each of these categories?
• What are the regions of the human body where mycotic diseases can be observed?
