Abstract Creation Instructions

You will need to read (several times over) the assigned (provided by the course instructor) journal article and then create an abstract for the article. You must be very familiar with the contents of the article in order to write an adequate and sufficient abstract. The abstract is to follow the below guidelines and the format of the “Abstract Creation Example.”

Here are some basic structure strategies for your abstract:

• Be sure to introduce the topic properly and include a relevant purpose statement.
• Clearly summarize the methods and results sections.
• Include a strong summary statement and any future research ideas.

Mandatory Guidelines

1. Must be in current APA format
2. Title of abstract article must be capitalized and be in “bold” title format
3. The authors of the article must be included in the format outlined in the provided example.
4. The abstract must be in “Justify” paragraph format.
5. You must organize your abstract like the provided example which includes the subheadings of Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusion in “bold and capitalized” format.
6. Prior to your “Purpose,” you will need a brief introduction, but you do not need to have a subheading for it.
7. The abstract, which includes the title and author block, cannot be shorter than 250 words and cannot be longer than 350 words.
