Overview:
In this assignment, you will produce a project management plan. A project management plan is a formal, approved document that defines how a project is executed, monitored, and controlled. It may be a summary or a detailed document and may include baselines, subsidiary management plans, and other planning documents. In weeks one through six, you have developed the scope, schedule, cost, risk, communication, procurement, and change plans that you will now compile into a project management plan. Instructions: For the project management plan, you may use the template posted in the unit or you can use your own template as long as you obtain an approval from your instructor.
Project Management Plan Elements:
A project plan is the culmination of meticulous planning by a project manager. It is the master document that guides how a project will run, and according to the Project Management Institute, it is “a formal, approved document used to guide both project execution and project control.” It is the plan of plans because documented within it are the project manager’s intentions for each key facet of the project. This plan should include at a minimum:
• Project Goals and objectives • Project Scope • Schedule including the WBS • Budget • Resources • Communication plan • Risks • Change plan • Procurement plan • Stakeholder management
