NR540 Leading and Managing Population Health
Week 6 Assignment
MSN-prepared nurses in population health lead and manage endeavors at the organizational level, across complex systems, and with community partners. Competency in the areas of planning and management supports outcome achievement and is vital for efficient implementation of population health initiatives.
Important first steps toward organizational planning and management include clearly communicating rationale to support a proposed solution to address the identified problem. In addition to conveying this rationale in a clear manner, a proposed solution should include specific objectives, intervention strategies, identification of necessary resources, and engagement with stakeholders.
This assignment involves the creation of an executive proposal to propose a solution for a population health concern. Building upon your learning from the NR 539 course, proposed objectives and intervention strategies will be integrated as you succinctly propose a solution to address a population health concern. The proposed solution may serve as a springboard for a future practicum project.

Course Learning Outcomes
Through this assignment, the student will address the following course learning outcomes:
CO 1: Analyze strategies for leadership and management of population health that optimize organizational and health-related outcomes. (PO 5)
CO 2: Distinguish opportunities to advocate for quality and health equity across complex systems. (POs 1, 2, and 5)
Imagine that you are proposing a solution to a population health concern. In order to gain support from organizational and community leaders, an executive proposal is created to provide rationale for the proposed solution along with the specific details about the initiative such as objectives, intervention strategies, stakeholder engagement, necessary resources, and projected expenses.
To begin this assignment, review your learning and assignments completed in NR 539. Specifically, revisit the problem, objectives, and implementation strategies developed within the NR 539 course. As you review this information, consider the stakeholder engagement that will be necessary to carry out the proposed solution. Identify the resources and expenses necessary for implementation.
Because the planning process is ever-evolving and influenced by numerous factors, this assignment is an opportunity to further develop your work in NR 539 and may serve as a practicum project in the future.
