Classical Conditioning

1. Briefly describe, IN YOUR OWN WORDS, the process of classical conditioning (make sure you cite your source though, in APA, since you are paraphrasing--Your source will likely be your textbook). **NOTE: You need to cite anything that is not common knowledge.

2. Cite one article from a main experiment in the early history of this theory or another experiment that explicitly utilizes classical conditioning. This should be an article from the experimenter rather than a review of an experiment. Be sure to identify the US, UR, CS, and CR in your paper by bolding. **External source—Not textbook

3. Choose one situation that could occur in real life (and does not violate ethical guidelines) that illustrates classical conditioning. Be sure to describe the scenario and then identify the US, UR, CS, and CR. **This is the only section that does not require a citation since this is your own example.

You can choose to do either 3 or 6. You must complete 1, 2, 4, and 5. Please be clear when transitioning from classical to operant conditioning.

For all of these questions, DO NOT just use examples or definitions straight out of the book (or from external sources). Please review plagiarism guidelines in the syllabus prior to writing the paper. If you use an external source for information about the history of psychology, be sure to CITE your sources. Remember that it is technically plagiarism to use information from a source but not cite it.

Consult at least TWO outside scholarly articles. Please use APA style (7th edition) in the formatting of your references at the end of the paper and also citing the references within your text.
