NEG-731: NEGOTIATIONS
Final Project
Course objectives covered in this module include: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
DESCRIPTION
You will work throughout the term to create a personal “Best Practices for Negotiation Manual” that will
serve as your final project. This final project will require you to apply the knowledge you have gained in a
2,000- to 2,500-word report (8 to 10 pages which typical font and spacing) outlining and analyzing best
practices in bargaining and negotiation.
This project provides you the opportunity to synthesize the knowledge, skills, and theoretical concepts
that you have learned about throughout the course and to create a document that will have real-world
value to you in your business and personal life. As you complete each module, you should be considering
concepts and approaches that resonate with your personality and style. Additionally you should be
collecting examples of applications of these approaches that occur in your own life or that you read about
or witness.
Your final project will be your own personal best practices manual for approaching bargaining and
negotiation situations, one that reflects the content of this course as well as your own synthesis of this
content. In module 5 you provided a general outline. Your final project should include a step-by-step
approach to bargaining and negotiation, with illustrative examples included where relevant. APA style and
formatting should be used, including a title and references page.
Your paper will be graded on the quality of its critical analysis as well as its organization, clarity,
completeness, and correct usage of APA formatting and style. Be sure to include sufficient examples to
demonstrate the concepts you are discussing (showing results when applied—or not applied) and to
support your approach. This project is your chance to demonstrate what you have learned as well as to
show that you know how to apply theory to practice.
