Logistic Regression

Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to apply knowledge of data analysis and interpretation by completing a logistic regression analysis on a data set using SPSS. This includes proper result reporting in the form of a paper with output from SPSS and appropriate tables included.

Course Outcomes

This assignment provides documentation of student ability to meet the following course outcomes:

CO2: Apply advanced quantitative biostatistical procedures and qualitative biostatistical procedures to relevant public health data sets to identify associations between causative factors and outcomes.

CO4: Analyze the results from statistical computing packages reporting results accurately and within context to the given public health data sets.

Requirements

The logistic regression assignment will be graded on accurately completing this test using a specified data source. In addition to this, students are expected to analysis the results of the data, correctly report this information, and speak of the significance of their findings in terms of public health. The quality of self-assessment, use of citations, use of Standard English grammar, sentence structure, and overall organization based on the required components as summarized in the directions and grading criteria/rubric will be evaluated.

Preparing the Assignment

Logistic regression allows us to look at categorical data and see if there is an association between variables. You will complete logistic regression to determine whether the social class predicts behavior. The variable "vehicle" will show social status with 1 being low social status up to 5, the highest high social status. Here the "cutting people off" displays a person's behavior, with 0 meaning they don't cut people off and 1 meaning they do. Explain your findings using the data set provided to you labeled Module 5.
