OVERVIEW

Primary care providers or practitioners (PCPs) include physicians, advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs / nurse practitioners), and physician assistants (PAs).  These professionals lead the way in providing and directing healthcare services.  As both patients and healthcare workers, it is important to have an understanding of the education and training background of each practitioner, as well as the role they play in providing medical care.  With physicians (medical doctors) being highly trained leaders, this team of providers work together to meet the growing medical needs of the healthcare system.
