Aging is simply a natural part of life. Unfortunately, as we age, our bodies do not look the same or function as well as they used to. Many try to counteract the effects of aging through sensible modifications in their diet, exercise, and rest, while others may seek renewed health and vigor using “all-natural” supplements or other, more extreme regimens.

In our teen years, the human body undergoes great periods of growth, most of which is directed by hormones. These hormones naturally decline, however, as we reach adult maturity. “Body image” can become a near-obsession for some throughout life, even well into their later years. In the program presented in the video below, the effects of aging are managed by exercise supplemented by a prescribed combination of anabolic steroids and human growth hormone (HGH).

Part A: Existing Knowledge

After watching this video, address the first question based on your thoughts and supported by research. Include with your post the research references in APA style format. Post your reply by Tuesday. After posting, begin your textbook reading to complete Parts B & C.

Question #1: If these programs are indeed medically managed and effective, should the laws regulating steroid and hormone therapies be lifted? Is this a responsible choice, in your opinion? Or has vanity simply trumped sensibility?

Part B: Applying What You Learned

For the second part of the discussion, you will apply what you have learned from the course textbook reading assignment in this module. By Thursday, create and post two separate well-crafted and well-researched questions for your classmates to answer. Each question must include at least 5 sentences of background information before your classmate questions are asked. You must start each question post with the heading “CLASSMATE QUESTION.”

Part C: Research and Respond

For the last part of the discussion, you will research and respond to two of your classmates' questions. Each response must include at least 5 sentences of well-researched information from a resource other than the course textbook.
