1. Choose a country and focus on a specific culture within that country.
2. Examine food in the chosen culture and conduct research on its cultural significance.
3. Please write a 2 to 5 page paper (excluding the title page and reference page(s)) using APA 6th Edition Format and Style about the cultural significance of food within your chosen culture. Please include the following in your paper:
   • How is food connected to family and community celebrations in your chosen culture? e.g. births, birthdays, weddings, graduations, deaths etc.
   • How does gender play a role in cooking and serving food in your chosen culture? e.g. do males cook and/or serve food?
   • How does hierarchy within the family play a role in your chosen culture? e.g. who is served first at mealtimes the mother? the father?
   • Is food associated with the remembrance of/reverence for ancestors in your chosen culture? e.g. are ancestors remembered at mealtimes? are they remembered/revered during other family and community celebrations?
