General Assessment Guidance
· Your summative assessment for this module is made up of this 1 submission which accounts for 100% of the marks
· The deadline for submission is 23:59 hrs. on 14th April 2020. Please note late submissions will not be marked.
· You are required to submit all elements of your assessment via Turnitin online access. Only submissions made via the specified mode will be accepted and hard copies or any other digital form of submissions (like via email or pen drive etc.) will not be accepted.
· For coursework, the submission word limit is 2,500 words. You must comply with the word count guidelines. You may submit LESS than 2,500 words but not more. Word Count guidelines can be found on your programme home page and the coursework submission page.
· Do not put your name or contact details anywhere on your submission. You should only put your student registration number (SRN) which will ensure your submission is recognised in the marking process.
· A total of 100 marks are available for this module assessment, and you are required to achieve minimum 50% to pass this module.
· You are required to use only Harvard Referencing System in your submission. Any content which is already published by other author(s) and is not referenced will be considered as a case of plagiarism.

Assessment Brief
The summative assessment is a written individual report (2,500 words) based on a business operation within an organisation you have worked at or are currently working at. You may also choose an organisation, subject to instructor’s approval, which you intend to visit and will therefore have sufficient access to their operations in order to conduct the assessment with the expected level of detail and specialised knowledge.
2.1. Questions
Your tasks:
1. Provide an overview of your chosen establishment. Either your own place of work or a small business that you are able to visit; and define the scope of your analysis. (5 marks)
2. Prepare a Gantt Chart for the production of this report. (10 marks)
3. What are the main challenges the organisation is currently facing? Critically analyse the operation management challenges that the business is facing. Use established operations management frameworks, such as: the 4V model; OM Performance Objectives; Lean management; and/or any other models you consider appropriate. (25 marks).
4. Critically evaluate the key processes used in the production/delivery of a product/service, discussing the pros and cons of these processes in meeting performance objectives. (25 marks)
5. Drawing on the analysis conducted in previous sections, identify and prioritise quality improvements you would recommend to the product/service delivery, by using continuous improvement frameworks. (25 marks)
6. Consolidate a professional report with a suitable layout and presentation. (5 marks)
7. Academic references. (5 marks)
