Considering the most efficient ways to "produce health" and the incremental contribution of medical care to the production of health, discuss the health-production function, the various measurements (mortality, morbidity, quality of life) and determinants (income and education, environmental and lifestyle factors, genetics) of health status, and how they contribute to the overall production of health.

Explain the concept of population health and its importance to economists, policy makers, and health care professionals.

Discuss health outcome measures and health disparities and how they can be used to improve health care system quality and value.

Provide an analysis of international population health outcome metrics and disparities that can be utilized to make recommendations for improving health outcomes and disparities in the United States.

Discuss public issues and policies related to the demand for health, medical care, and population health.
