This is the research question.“The use of CAM (Complementary and Alternative medicine) versus oral medicine in the management of asthma of children aged 3-12 years old with G6PD deficiency.The G6PD condition is very alarming because many foods and drugs can cause patients to have hemolytic anemia. Asthma is top on the list of co-existing conditions of people with G6PD. Many drugs for asthma patients do not work well with G6PD patients and while G6PD patients do not show symptoms, the breakdown of RBC of patients if not known earlier may lead to hemolysis, which can be fatal. The use of CAM in the management of asthma of children aged 3-12 years old with G6PD deficiency is highly considered however, research studies of this issue is very little. Studying this issue is proposed because the key to saving children with G6PD patients is removing the triggers that cause hemolytic anemia.
