Use the following format to write your lab reports for this course. You must include each section (such as the Purpose and the Procedure). Make sure that the lab report is in your own words and that it is written in paragraphs, not bullet points. See the lab report evaluation rubric for a detailed explanation. Name your file Lab5 and both partners’ last names. Lab Report TitlePurposeThis is the reason for the experiment. What were you investigating? What was your hypothesis? What was your focus? ProcedureDescribe how to perform the experiment. What were your dependent and independent variables? What were the steps of the experiment? Be specific: your procedure must provide enough explanation for another researcher to replicate your experiment. Data/ResultsData Selection: This includes observations (measureable information that you perceived through your senses) and raw data. Data Presentation: Organize your data (using charts, tables). Be sure to include relevant measurements with units, and label your axes. Insert chart below. CHART OR TABLE HEREAnalysis/Data PresentationProvide any calculations that you applied to the data. Give the general equation and a specific example. Include units of measurement.Include graphs. Each graph must have a title and data points, and its axes must be labeled. Include units of measurement.Describe any errors you encountered. Here, you should discuss instances in which you and your partner had conflicting data. What were the sources of error? What was the relative impact of each?ConclusionYour conclusion must be clearly and logically drawn from data provided, with a logical chain of reasoning from hypothesis to data to conclusions clearly and persuasively explained. Conflicting data, if present, must be explained. Again, write in paragraphs, not bullet points.

Using the PH scale simulation follow these steps:

Follow the following 6 steps in order to successfully complete this assignment:

  1. Use the groups signup link to find a partner.
  2. Working with your partner, choose either the PH SCALE https://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/ph-scale
  3. Define your experiment's purpose and procedure, paying particular attention to defining your independent and dependent variables. See the lab report template and the assignment evaluation rubric for more information on designing your experiment. Note that collaborative work with your partner on this part of the assignment must be documented in your group discussion board forum and that both partners must participate.
  4. Complete your experiment. Each partner must run the simulation two times, taking careful notes on all data and results.
  5. Using your Group Discussion Area, compare your results with your partner. If there are discrepancies in your data, discuss what might have caused them. Be sure to include the outcome of this discussion in your lab report under Analysis/Data presentation, Error.
  6. Write your lab report, including charts or tables of your data, an analysis of your results, and your conclusion. Share your full report on the Acid-Base/pH Lab Discussion forum by [deadline]
