You are the team leader on a taskforce to improve hand hygiene compliance. Before the first meeting, you have been asked to provide a memo that indicates the steps to be considered in creating a new procedure. Be sure your memo addresses the following questions:

· How would your task force use the PDSA model and the data collection, process mapping, and process analysis tools to plan for a process change?

· How will you measure compliance?

· What are the possible causes for noncompliance? Are there other factors contributing to the issue? 

· If the noncompliance issue is isolated to only a few staff, how would this affect the improvement process?

· What additional information and resources might the taskforce need to develop a procedure?

· How will you ensure compliance?
