Individual personal and professional experiences and perspectives influence the extent to which each of you have been engaged in policy issues. Some of you may have never been involved with formal policy making, while others may have some experience related to the creation, implementation, and evaluation of social policies.

• If you have policy-making experience, describe your thoughts regarding your commitment to this work.
• If you have no experience related to policy formation and implementation, tell us what you think about the possibility of getting involved.
• To what extent do you think individual social workers should be involved with public policy making? Explain your view.
• Do you think apathy plays a role in social workers’ involvement with policy (formation, implementation and evaluation) in their communities? Explain your thinking.
