A heat exchanger operates with the following streams: water in at 20 degrees C, 30 kg/hr; water out at 70 degrees C; Organic in at 100 degrees C, 41.8 kg/hr; organic out at 40 degrees C.

(a) What is the maximum work that could be obtained if the flowrates and temperatures of the streams remain the same, but heat transfer is permitted with the surroundings at 298K. (Cpwater=4.184kJ/(kgK), Cporganic=2.5kj/(kgK)).
(b) What is the maximum work that could be obtained by replacing the heat exchanger with a reversible heat transfer device, where the inlet flowrates and temperatures are to remain the same, the organic outlet temperature remains the same, and no heat transfer with the surrounding occurs?
