Week 1 Discussion

Welcome to our Spring II class, Organizational Change (ORGD 6355)! I am looking forward to guiding our discussions and assisting you and your colleagues throughout our semester.  Below is our first week's discussion assignment:

Part I

In preparation of our first week (starting March 8), I would like for us to get to know each other by sharing a little about ourselves.  For example, please introduce yourself by sharing what organization you work for or previously worked for, any interesting hobbies or general interests, and what you expect to gain out of our class.  You can't go wrong, just be yourself!

Your introduction and part II (see below) are due by Thursday, March 11, 11:59 p.m. (CST).

Part II

In addition to introducing yourselves, in 3-4 paragraphs, share an experience regarding change and answer the three questions below. Remember, your initial post is due Thursday, March 11, 11:59 p.m. (CST).  Please respond to at least two (2) colleagues with substantive comments and feedback by the end of week, Sunday, March 14, 11:59 p.m. (CST).

1. Identify the issues with managing change that you experienced?

2. What lessons have you added in your own change management practices, particularly for future changes?

3. Knowing what you know today, do you think organizations are implementing "your" lessons learned? Why or why not?
