In Chapter 10, the authors of the textbook do an excellent job of providing logical steps and real-life insight to reviewing a firm’s financial statements. If you really do start your own business, you may find yourself referring back to this chapter for good guidance.

Using terms and concepts from Chapter 10 in a way that demonstrates your knowledge of those terms and concepts, please discuss the content of section 10-1 The Income Statement, pages 263-268. Please be sure to discuss the most basic income statement equation, the five broad areas of business activity, and a summary of what you think an income statement is used for.
