Based on the topic you chose for the Week 1 assignment, you will explain what qualitative data collection tool(s) you might use for your study and explain why they are suitable. You will also start thinking about your potential participants. Keep in mind that you are practicing as you draft these components for the final assignment, which is your mini research proposal, and you will have the opportunity to revise. Later in this course, you will identify ways that you might collect quantitative data. During the final week, you will decide which methodological approach is most suitable for your topic and choose to collect either qualitative data or quantitative data.

Consider reviewing Chapter 8 of the textbook.

Based on the topic you chose for the Week 1 assignment, include the following in your paper:

Explain what data collection tool(s) you might use for your study (such as an interview, survey, observation, etc.) in one paragraph.

Explain why those data collection tools may or may not be appropriate for your chosen topic in one paragraph.

Discuss the characteristics of your potential participants in one paragraph.
