Importance of QI

Purpose

The purpose of this discussion is for learners to explain the importance of quality improvement and the persons who should serve on the committee to improve quality.

Course Outcome

This discussion enables the student to meet the following course outcome:

CO 1: Describe the role of the BSN nurse in collaborative quality improvement. (POs 2 and 7)

Imagine one of your roles was to form a quality improvement committee in a place of practice (examples: hospital, long term care facility, assisted living).

Answer the following questions. Your post should look like:

Paragraph one: Why is quality improvement important at your place of practice? Be specific.

Paragraph two: Who should be on your committee and why? Do you believe patients or clients should be part of the committee? Why or why not?
