In managing expectations, one must learn to speak a common language with others to be able to get on the "same page" and address "Apples" versus "Oranges" appropriately. What I learned along the way was that this was also a formula for dealing with people. What are your expectations of an interaction with a person, be it Professional? Friendship? Acquaintanceship? Love?
