If the counseling relationship was a recipe, what ingredients would you need to make a strong therapeutic alliance? Please include aspects of Stoltenberg's Developmental Model, such as levels of development and the corresponding domains of competence. Would you need to include ingredients from a theoretical orientation that seems to be a good "fit" for you? What about linear and/or non-linear ingredients? How much would you need of each ingredient to develop a strong, healthy therapeutic alliance while striving toward professional growth and development as a counselor?
