How as engineers can we make decisions regarding analysis

Write a critical evaluation regarding the impacts Orville Dam has had within the region and regarding conversations around dam safety.  How as engineers can we make decisions regarding analysis, design and emergency management to insure the safety of human life?  Remember that it is important to support your position through peer reviewed journals and other relevant sources.  The following categories will be used to evaluate your essay:

 

1. 1. Identify and summarize the problems.  Consider if there are any ethical or professional responsibilities in the situation
2. 2. Identify and present your perspective/position.  Are their professional and or ethical responsibilities that must be considered for the solution that you are proposing? 
3. 3. Use evidence to support you position
4. 4. Draw an adequate conclusion given the evidence.  Make sure that the ethical and professional responsibilities are addressed.
5. 5. Quality of writing: Clarity of writing, with no vague or ambiguous ideas; Proper essay format (Introduction, Body, Conclusion)
6. 6. Provide in-text citation and a work cited page
