Demonstration Speech

Assignment: Demonstration Speech AKA How to Speech

Topic: You will choose a topic. Make sure that the topic you choose will fulfil the assignment guidelines.

Time: You will be allowed 3-5 minutes. If you go over or under time you will lose points.

Audience: You will have 3 audience members present, including your camera person. The audience members will need to be in High School or older. Do not email me and ask for an exception to this requirement. Speeches without an audience will receive a zero.

Delivery: You will not READ your speech. If you write out everything that you are going to say and read it, then your final grade for your presentation will be reduced by 50%!

Q/A: This does NOT count as part of your time. Immediately following your speech, you will field questions from the audience for 1 minute.

Professionalism: Remember to be professional when recording your speech. You need to dress appropriately. You need to act appropriately. Avoid recording your speech in a bathroom, etc.

Visual Aid: You must have at least one visual aid for your speech. Think show and tell.

Source Citation: You must cite a minimum of 3 sources orally in your speech. (This means that they must come out of your mouth, not shown at the end).
