Question Description

How do we know that a health services organization is truly open to diversity and to diverse views? Consider diversity from the perspective of people at different levels of the organization (clinical, support, administrative, governance, etc.). Where comfortable, please share an experience concerning diversity in a health-related organization.

Each organization has its own culture. What cultures or cultural traits do you think are important among Doctors providing care to multicultural communities?

How can healthcare providers should be educated/trained regarding taking care of diverse populations, with different sexual orientation and/or with different socioeconomical backgrounds ?

What opportunities and/or risks might a staff member’s shared cultural background with the patient/consumer present? What strategies can health professionals use to proactively communicate with someone when a shared cultural background is not present?
