English IV “Animal Farm” 7 Commandments Essay

PROMPT:

In “Animal Farm” the animals create the rules that must be followed. We have rules in society that are written, like laws, but also ones that are social rules to guide our lives, such as shaking someone’s hand when you meet them or saying “excuse me” when you burp.

This assignment is to create your list of 7 commandments for our society.

EXPECTATIONS:

You will choose the 7 most basic and important rules that guide our lives, either written or social rules and defend why you chose that commandment.

The essay should have: Header with last name & page number on top left (see top of this page), MLA heading (see below for example), Times New Roman font, 12 point, Double Spaced

Your essay must include:

Introductory Paragraph – Introduce the topic and state your commandments 

 Seven Body Paragraphs – One paragraph for each commandment. Topic sentence should say what the commandment is and the rest of the paragraph will be the justification for choosing that commandment, or why it is important to have.

Concluding Paragraph – Summarize your points and give one last important thought that you want them to think about.
