Culture and Family 

We all exist in several different cultures made up of many different groups. But the one you are most likely have the longest history is your family. Family is what you identify as your family. For this discussion there are 2 parts. The first part focuses on a culture within the family including older adults within the family. The second part is to identify a culture you participate in outside of the family (ex. work culture).

Some thinks to assist you to focus the discussion:

· Identify the culture

· Discuss the culture and the characteristic of it

· What is your role and responsibilities in this culture?

· How has this culture impact who you are?

· How do these cultural experiences impact your role as a nurse caring for older adults?
