This activity will involve researching the operation or a major component of a reciprocating engine. Research concerning the operation of a reciprocating engine can be on valves, valve overlap, compression ratio, or the different types of horse power. If you choose a component, you can conduct research on cylinders, pistons, camshafts, or crankshafts. These items are suggestions. Choose something that interests you and captivates your curiosity. Using the textbook as a starting point, explore the Internet and the Hunt Library (Links to an external site.) for information to supplement the readings. Assignment Guidelines: Paper Length: Minimum of two pages and a maximum of three pages. (Does not include Title or reference page). Format: APA current edition to include double spacing, 1 inch margins, 12 point font, in text citations, reference page. Structure: Must contain proper paragraph, sentence structure, and be grammatically correct.
