Everyday problem solving often times appears to be much more complex than what is sometimes examined in the laboratory. It sometimes appears that the elaborate processes described in the chapter are not necessarily those used outside of the laboratory. Often times it appears people use a more eclectic approach to problem solving by using components of the different strategies.
Similar to above, identify and discuss a (significant) problem you have had to solve and the strategies used to solve it.
- Describe in detail what the problem was;
- the strategies/processes used to solve the problem (incorporating the literature and ideas from the chapter);
- what the solution was?
