During your newborn rounds, you examine Alex, a one-day-old infant who is set to go home tomorrow. He was born full term, without complications. During the exam, you note he has a deep sacral pit above his gluteal crease. Alex’s mother Celia is 18 years old and did not receive prenatal care until she was 4 months pregnant.

1. What should you tell Alex’s mother about the sacral pit?

The body of your paper needs to be 3-4 pages long. This does NOT include the title page and reference page. Papers that are more than 4 pages long will not be accepted.

You must reference a minimum of two scholarly sources in your paper.

Use current APA format to style your paper and to cite your sources. Integrate your sources into the paragraphs and use internal citations pointing to evidence in the literature and supporting your ideas.
