The Webb reading states: “We need to understand what our customers value in order to make certain we create innovations and solutions that don't just perform but far exceed expectations.” The “Enough” reading states it is possible for business to establish a stable but non growing economy. However, many companies have found that attempting to serve the wants and needs of buyers leads to more consumption, excess production, and resource depletion.

Using both of these readings as background, please consider and answer the following questions:

1. How does a leader decide whether solving a problem can be done without adding to unnecessary consumption?
2. What principles from the “Enough” reading would you consider in making such a decision for a company?
