U.S. Supreme Court cases - Engel v. Vitale  (1962)

Please write an essay in which you explain the significance of  one of the five following U.S. Supreme Court cases.

Please give only a brief description of the facts of the case. Spend most of your time describing why the case is significant - what it means for actual peoples' lives - and explaining why you think the decision is either good or bad for America.

1)  Engel v. Vitale  (1962)

2)  Texas v. Johnson  (1989)

3)  Shelby County v. Holder  (2013)

4)  Fisher v. UT-Austin II  (2016)  (This case made it to the Supreme Court twice. Please write about the second appearance. For background, here is the 

5)  Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization  (2022)

Only use scholarly or mainstream media sources. No encyclopedias or "pro-con" sites or personal blogs, for example. If you are wondering if a source is acceptable, ask me. And do not forget that you must cite any sources you use. Another excellent source (my most commonly used one for the Supreme Court) is SCOTUSBlog.com. You can use anything you find on SCOTUSBlog as a source on your essay. It wasn't around for the 1962 and 1989 cases above. Sorry.
