United States Census Bureau website

Go to the United States Census Bureau website, then select Data > Data Tools & Apps > American FactFinder (or use the direct link to American FactFinder) to locate the census data listed below for a state and city of your choice. Report at least three different years of information. 

• Number of people over age 65
• Number of people under age 5
• Median household income
• Median value of owner-occupied homes
• Percent of labor force employed in public administration

Describe what the census data tell you for each variable above over the years. Are the values increasing, decreasing, staying constant? Are any of the census figures unusual or different from what you expected? Comment on the postings by other students. How do their cities differ from the city that you selected?

Note: Review the Chapter 9 Discussion Sample that provides detailed instructions and a sample report for Atlantic City, NJ. You cannot use Atlantic City, NJ for your posting.
