Management uses a variety or a mix of promotional tools to motivate consumers to respond and purchase or adopt their products and services. One of the many tools they use is direct marketing. As explained by the textbook authors, direct marketing is accomplished through the use of various advertising media in order to elicit a response or a transaction that can be measured in an interaction with the consumer (Andrews & Shimp, 2018).
