Module 4 Discussion

View the following video:

IndustriaALL_GU. (2017, April 26). Workers at Volkswagen’s plant in Chattanooga discuss their situation [Video file]. Retrieved from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YleFBefx36s

And read the following article:

Carey, N. (2017). VW hit with U.S. unfair labor practice complaint at Tenn. plant. Automotive News. Retrieved from http://www.autonews.com/article/20170513/OEM01/170519880/vw-hit-with-u.s.-unfair-labor-practice-complaint-at-tenn.-plant

Your First Post:

Once you have watched the video and read the article, consider the merit of the VW argument that a union should represent all the workers at a production facility before the company should be expected to work with the union. Do your own research to see whether or not VW’s argument at their Chattanooga plant is consistent with VW’s approach to unions elsewhere in the world, including at their plants in Germany. Be sure to provide citations for any sources.

Your Subsequent Posts:

Read through the responses by your peers and post responses to at least two classmates’ posts. Bring in ideas/comments and/or research/readings not mentioned yet.

Remember: To receive full credit in this forum, you need to post a minimum of three quality posts (your own initial post, and responses to two classmates). If you borrow from subject matter experts (authors, speakers, etc.), be sure to give them credit by citing sources.
