Think about "moral panics," as defined and discussed in the assigned reading on the mods and the rockers. Think about today's moral panics and select one that you find especially striking. In a short paper, describe this moral panic and discuss the role that interest groups and the media are playing in creating it. Compare and contrast it to the panic over the mods and rockers. What does this moral panic reveal about contemporary American society?
