Model 11: There have been a number of heinous tragedies involving mass shootings including the tragedy at the Sandy Hook elementary school and more recently at the Orlando nightclub. In general, what principles and findings of social psychology could be applied to reduce societal violence? Discuss.

Module 12: In what ways are prejudice, discrimination, and stereotyping still with us today? When you find yourself being stereotyped by someone you are talking to, how do you deal with it?

Module 13: What do you think of the research on heart disease and hostility? Do you know anyone who probably scores high on the Cook and Medley Hostility Scale (see lecture slides)? What are they like? Can these people change to reduce their risk? If so, what tasks (e.g., anger management training, meditation exercises, etc.) would they need to undertake in order to change? Discuss.

Module 14: What are your thoughts about scientific jury selection? Should it be allowed or does it give one side an unfair advantage?
