The United States could reform health care because of the high cost. Medical bankruptcies have affected up to two million people. Rising health care costs could threaten to consume the entire federal budget. It has made the cost of preventive care unaffordable to many. Low-income families may turn to the emergency room, which could raise costs even higher (American Association for the Advancement of Science. [AAAS], 2020)
