Not-For-Profit Resources – Inflows and Outflows

The not-for-profit organization Save the Wolves Foundation is dedicated to research the state of the wolf population in the United States and Canada, educate the public about wolves, and prevent further endangerment of them. The following transactions occurred during the current fiscal year.

1. Cash donations of $25,000 to be used as the Foundation wishes were received.2. $4,500 supplies expense, gift shop shipping expense, and miscellaneous office expenses in the current fiscal year were paid.3. Cash donations of $15,000 to be used for research were received.4. Pledges of $30,000 were received. Of that total amount, $20,000 were unconditional, to be used as they wish, and expected to be received next year. The other $10,000 of pledges were conditional on the receipt of matching funds from the Canadian sister organization.5. The Foundation received $7,500 toward its building fund.6. A donor contributed securities valued at $40,000 to be permanently invested. Earnings, to be used on education efforts, equaled $2,500 in the current year.7. The on-site gift shop sold Save-the-Wolf t-shirts, magnets, and other related items totaling $875.8. Local animal lovers volunteered to distribute flyers for an upcoming educational film event. They spent 20 hours distributing the flyers. The value of their time if hired is $1,600. The flyers provided information about the endangered status of wolves and invited the public to attend the film event to learn how they can help save the wolves. One quarter of the flyer was used to solicit contributions for the foundation to help fund its activities. The cost of the flyer was $1,000.9. A wolf specialist from the regional zoo donated her time to develop educational literature and an educational film designed to reduce fear and misconception of ranch communities about the presence of wolves in the nearby wilderness. The value of the specialist’s time is $3,000.
