The America of 1865 looks drastically different when compared to the America of 1920. Indeed, it was a “New America” consisting of a “New South,” “New West,” and “New North.” Write an essay that explains the origins and implications of the legal, economic, and social transformations that remade each of these regions and how that led to the construction of a “New America.” Be sure to include in your essay specific examples (events, acts, people, organizations, etc.) that show what caused these regional transitions in the first place and what impact they had on the course of late 19th and early 20th century America.
