Imagine writing a TV series about a character’s struggles with navigating stereotypes and prejudice and exploring avenues for social change. Your job is to depict this character’s journey, noting how constructing narratives for this show can parallel our own-real-life socialization with stereotypes and prejudices. 

Step 1

For Season 1 of the series, explore the stereotypes your character encounters  

Define stereotypes within the storyline and explore how they might emerge and persist. How does your character inadvertently embody or challenge these stereotypes? When and how does your character stereotype others?

Step 2

For Season 2, delve into the theme of prejudice.  

Explain how prejudice may arise through socialization and stereotyping.

How do these prejudices impact the life and relationship of your main character?

Step 3

For Season 3, describe a pivotal moment when your main character realizes they can act against stereotypes and prejudices or do nothing. 

How would this scenario unfold?

What effect would it have on your character’s perspective and behavior?

How might inclusion and equity be realized for themselves and others?
