Discuss the role of self-fulfilling prophecies and incorrigible propositions (from Chapter 3) in constructing and maintaining reality. Have you ever experienced or created a self-fulfilling prophecy for yourself? If so, describe the process and experience. If not, describe someone (real or imagined) who might have done this. Examine one or two of your own “incorrigible propositions.” What would you feel and do if these beliefs were contradicted?

How are love and romance constructed differently in different genres of music? Find song lyrics from 2 different styles of music (rock, hip-hop, pop, country, classical, world, or your choice) that reference love and/or romance (mutual or unrequited). Write down a line or two of the songs. If the lyrics are in a different language, please translate. How is love depicted in each of the two selections? Do different genres tend to present love differently—as used for celebration, as an aphrodisiac, or as a cause of sorrow? Give us your thoughts on the social construction of love in different genres of music.

Discuss the faulty research methodologies and the media perpetuation of the myths in the construction of fake 'stories', especially concerning the coronavirus. How do our brains 'trick us' into believing fake news? Use quotes and direct examples from the two articles on the pandemic, so I know that you have read both articles.
