Search the Internet for your state health report card and U.S. health report card.

Using your state health report card along with the top 10 health problems nationally, choose two health problems: one from your state and one at the national level.

Investigate epidemiology related to each health problem.

Identify the vulnerable populations most impacted by your chosen health problems.

Investigate a health care policy issue in your city or state (or the entire U.S.) that is connected to health care delivery. This investigation may be attending a public hearing or legislative event, viewing a podcast, interviewing a senator or representative, interviewing a nurse from American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) policy division, or exploring the American Public Health Association website.

Due: In an effort to facilitate scholarly discourse, create your initial post by Day 3, and reply to at least two of your classmates, on two separate days, by Day 7.

View the WHO website, which includes its Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) page.

Search the Online Library for an article related to global health.

Consult the International Council of Nurses website.

Initial Post

Using information from the WHO website, which includes MDGs, and a minimum of one related scholarly article, respond to the following:

Select one of the WHO MDGs.

Using your selected MDG from the WHO, provide a summary that includes an explanation of the MDG along with concepts of policy and economics at the global health level.

Speak to nursing’s role in responding to the health issue.

You may choose to integrate other related concepts from the course (e.g., social justice and health education).

The website of the International Council of Nurses may be helpful as you craft your response.
