Individual cultures share values, customs, and beliefs. However, some values, customs, and beliefs are shared across cultures. In this assignment, you will explore the cross-cultural nature of values, customs, and beliefs.

General Information:

  • This assignment uses a grading rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with expectations for successful completion.
  • Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
  • You are not required to submit this assignment to Turnitin.

Directions:

Prepare a PowerPoint presentation (12-15 slides with speaker notes for each slide) comparing at least three customs, values, and beliefs that are shared across cultures/religions as addressed throughout the course.

See the attachment for a list of possible customs, values, or beliefs you may choose for this assignment.

In your presentation, do the following for each custom, value, or belief selected:

  1. Define the custom, value, or belief.
  2. Compare and contrast the custom, value, or belief across at least two religions/societies.
  3. Show how the custom, value, or belief influences the cultures.

Your textbook will provide a good starting point for your research. In addition, you must use, at minimum, two other reputable academic sources. These sources can be primary or secondary sources, including primary source documents, scholarly journals, other texts or comparable academic sources. They must be appropriately cited and referenced in a references list slide. The references list slide is not included in the slide count.
