In your reaction, answer the following:
What are your thoughts on what Johann said in this TED Talk? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain your reasons.
While your textbook focuses on addictions to substances, consider all addictive behaviors. What do you think the withdrawal reaction might be when one suddenly stops taking an antidepressant medication or engaging in an addictive behavior after many years. Explain your decision and include your explanation of what it means to be physically dependent on a drug (as part of this, you should describe the withdrawal process). To illustrate your writing, provide an example from your experiences.
In his presentation, Johann mentions policies surrounding drugs. If you could change those policies related to how we treat drug-addicted individuals, what would be the first thing you would change? In your answer, be sure to describe methods for measuring the rewarding effects of drugs and why the information you're sharing is important for your policy recommendations.
