For this initial exploratory essay, you are to assume the role of a professional consultant.

Your work should come in the form of a formal APA paper and come in the following components. Imagine you have a consultant role and you have been asked to work with a medium sized company that is trying to expand its human resources department. Because this company executes a number of projects associated with its work, the HR department has an interest in potentially making project management a focal point for their training and development of leaders in the company.

In addition to other consulting activities, you have been asked to author a position paper exploring the merits of training and developing leaders with a strong capacity for project management. In your essay make sure you include the following:

· Component 1: A clear definition for project management

· Component 2: An explanation as to why it’s important for a variety of leadership roles today

· Component 3: A suggested action plan for how you could potentially make project management training a part of the professional development for leaders at different levels throughout the organization.

We realize that you are not a professional consultant nor are you an expert in training. However, we hope that your thorough exploration of these first readings regarding the notion of project management will give you enough insight to explore this expository expression in a fun, direct, and specific way clearly demonstrating your knowledge of these essential components.

Please ensure in executing this assignment that you make specific references to the readings provided as well as the utilization of at least five outside references which can be used to support your ideas presented. The essay should be 1850- words and should include at least five (5) citations. The sections should be clearly marked with headings so that your instructor knows which points you are addressing. Follow the guidelines for APA writing style. The title page and references page do not count towards the minimum word amount for this assignment.
