Police Agencies

Find the agencies associated with each law enforcement type and their main obligations to the community. Develop a table that includes the following law enforcement types, and list two agencies for each type:

· federal, (US Marshall Service, U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)

· state, (State Police, Highway Patrol)

· county, (County Police, Sherrif’s Departments)

· local/municipal, and (Police, Sherrifs Departments)

· tribal. (Bureau of Indian Affairs, United States Department of the Interior)

In your essay, explain the differences between the two agencies you listed for each type. You should include the following information:

· name of the law enforcement agency,

· jurisdiction of the agency,

· law enforcement position (i.e., appointed or elected), and

· the governing body of each agency.

Use your research into law enforcement types or pull from your personal experience to explain a situation where these agencies from different law enforcement levels would be required to provide a coordinated investigation.

Your essay should be a minimum of two pages in length, not counting the title or reference pages. Please adhere to APA Style when creating citations and references for this assignment. Please note that no abstract is needed.
